What an artificial living wall is

A living wall from Mohammad Decor is a system of ready-to-hang artificial panels: dense UV-stable foliage on a mesh backing that fixes to your wall and stays green with zero irrigation. It is the product also searched as grass wall, artificial green wall, and vertical garden wall. Panels cover a measured area, cut cleanly around sockets and AC units, and need nothing more than dusting.

It is not a planted wall with pipes and a pump, and it is not preserved moss. That distinction matters in Dubai: irrigation walls leak, and moss needs controlled humidity that AC rooms and terraces cannot give it. Artificial panels skip all of that while still reading as a dense green surface.

Panel choice is mostly about density and leaf mix. Flat, uniform foliage suits gyms and corridors where the wall is seen at a distance. Mixed-depth panels with ferns and grasses suit feature walls and majlis backdrops seen up close. We bring samples or panel photos before you commit.

Where green walls work in Dubai

Most living wall jobs land in the same handful of places. Villas put a green backdrop behind a majlis or TV wall. Balconies and covered terraces take UV-stable panels on a boundary wall. Gyms and studios use a plant wall behind reception or along a mirror line. Offices and clinics green up a lobby, and cafes and retail fit a foliage facade or photo wall that never wilts in the heat.

Outdoor work needs the honest caveat: full-sun panels are UV-stable, not immortal. They hold colour far longer than indoor-grade panels outside, but years of Gulf afternoon sun will still tell eventually. Moss wall vs artificial living wall

Moss wall searches and living wall searches land on the same pages but want different products. Preserved moss is soft indoor art that needs stable humidity. Artificial panels are foliage that handle AC rooms and Gulf sun. We quote the second one, and we say so plainly.

If your heart is set on real moss, we will point that out early rather than install the wrong product. If what you actually want is a wall that looks green every day with no upkeep, panels are the right answer.

The same honesty applies to live planted walls: a real hydroponic living wall needs irrigation, drainage, grow light, and plant care contracts. It is a beautiful system in the right building, but it is a different trade. Our scope is the artificial panel version.

What changes the price

Living wall installation price in the UAE moves with square metres of panel, indoor versus outdoor grade, what the wall is made of, how high the crew works, and whether a batten frame is needed. We do not publish a rate card because two walls of the same size can price differently. Photos plus width by height get an indicative range on WhatsApp; the firm quote follows a free visit.

Fixing method is the other quiet cost driver. A flat, sound wall takes a direct fix into the substrate. Uneven surfaces, rental rules, or walls with services behind them usually want a light batten frame that panels clip to, which adds material and a little labour but leaves the wall easier to undo later.

How a visit works

Send photos and rough measurements on WhatsApp first. On the free visit we measure the wall, check what sits behind the finish, confirm indoor or outdoor exposure, and plan cuts for sockets and AC. Install day is a panel hang and edge finish: no wet trades, no irrigation plumbing. You get dusting and rinsing notes at handover, not a watering schedule.

Most residential walls complete in a single visit once panels are on site. Taller commercial walls or tower jobs with lift bookings and access rules take a little longer to schedule, and we flag that when we quote.
