Interior Design Cost in Dubai: Apartment & Villa Guide for 2026

The cost of furnishing a home in Dubai depends on what the quote actually covers. Some prices refer only to furniture. Others include design, curtains, carpets, delivery, fitting, and custom work.

As a general planning range for 2026, furnishing a studio may cost around AED 15,000 to AED 30,000. A 1-bedroom apartment may fall between AED 30,000 and AED 60,000, while a 2 or 3-bedroom apartment may require AED 50,000 to AED 120,000. Villa budgets often start around AED 80,000 and can rise well above AED 250,000.

These are market estimates, not fixed prices. Two quotes with the same total can cover very different work, so ask for furniture, materials, delivery, installation, and design services to be listed clearly.

Most confusion comes from treating the entire project as one number. In practice, there are three main parts:

Designers may charge a fixed fee, a rate based on floor area, or a percentage of the total project budget. Some include design within a complete supply-and-install quote. Neither approach is automatically better. What matters is knowing what you will receive and what may be added later.

The following figures are for general planning. They mainly reflect furniture and furnishings at an affordable to mid-range level. They do not automatically include construction, MEP work, authority approvals, appliances, or VAT.

A mid-range living-room setup with a sofa, coffee table, TV unit, and accent chair may cost around AED 9,000 to AED 20,000. Curtains, carpets, custom upholstery, wall treatments, and lighting can increase that amount.

An affordable master-bedroom setup may begin around AED 5,000 to AED 8,000. A more considered room with better furniture, curtains, carpet, lighting, and custom details may cost AED 15,000 to AED 50,000 or more.

Kitchens, dining areas, and majlis rooms are harder to estimate without measurements. Joinery, appliances, custom seating, and the chosen materials have a much larger effect on those spaces.

The same approach is available for bedrooms, offices, majlis carpeting, garden grass, wall moulding, curtains, and custom sofas. If you only need one service, such as curtains or carpet, it can be measured, supplied, and fitted without commissioning a complete room.

Installed work includes a three-year workmanship warranty. Aftercare notes are provided at handover.

A useful quote should make it easy to see where the money is going. Look for separate information on design and planning, furniture and furnishings, custom joinery, materials and labour, delivery, installation and final styling, plus VAT and payment terms.

It is equally important to understand what is not included. Structural changes, demolition, MEP work, authority approvals, and appliances may need separate quotations.

A low initial price is not always the cheaper option if measurement, delivery, fitting, or custom work is added later.

Timing depends on the service and whether anything needs to be made to order. A simple furniture and styling refresh may take 1–4 weeks. A full apartment with custom furniture, joinery, and window treatments can take 8–18 weeks. Villa projects usually take longer and are often completed in stages.

Material availability, building access, approvals, and custom production can all affect the final schedule. Ask for an expected installation date before paying the advance.

You should also confirm who will coordinate the different suppliers. Managing a sofa, curtains, carpet, lighting, and installation separately can take more time than expected.
